Jhumka Dam

Jhumka Dam is 5 km away from the railway station of Baikunthpur, the headquarters of Korea district. This dam looks exactly like the sea. As far as the eyes go, there is water. This dam was built in 1982. It was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Arjun Singh. It is also known as Ramanuj Pratap Sagar. Jhumka Dam is a special place for tourists. Apart from this, this dam is also very useful for farmers. About 1100 hectares of agricultural land is irrigated by Jhumka Dam. Thousands of farmers of 17 villages are getting benefit from this.
Jhumka Dam is no less than a boon for farmers. Apart from this, it is a major tourist destination for the people of Surguja division including Korea district. There are facilities for sitting, boating and fishing for tourists here. There is also a resort for staying. There is a very beautiful natural view around the dam. The group of stones in different ways along with trees and plants also attract people. Thousands of people come here. Every season is suitable to visit this dam. Because it is filled with water throughout the year. During the rainy season, due to more water, a more beautiful view can be seen. Jhumka Dam is also special among the favorite places of the people because a very big artificial fish has been made here. Inside which there is a fish aquarium. 20 rupees are charged from each person to go there.
